Peniel Mission TrustCharitable Activities
To get legal support of these activities Peniel Mission Trust was registered under Religious and Public Charitable Trust in 1997. To do our activities more effectively we have got Income tax Exemption from the Income Tax Department. To mobilize funds out side India the trust was registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act in 2001. At present we are concentrating the slum dwellers and interior villagers for the implementation of the welfare programmes.
Children Home
An orphanage was felt necessary through the counseling of the Holy Spirit. With the support of the well wishers an orphanage was established for the children of HIV / AIDS affected patients and orphan children with poor socio economic back ground. As on today there are 20 children are sheltered in the children home. Many new cases are registered but scarcity of funds these new cases are under waiting list. These children are cared adequately with all primary needs.
Destitute Rehabilitation & Training
A large number of destitudes live around Madambakkam with deliberate condition. To help these destitudes a skill training center was established with Tailoring trade. Unemployed women and destitudes are trained in the centre and given job placement. This activity creates the minds of the women with self supportive and helpful one another.
Greater Chennai Family Counseling Programme
The programme was designed to give counseling to the families and the community leaders and development workers in serving their fellow human being through proper guidance. They will be organized and counseled about various problems facing families in the city of Chennai and the slums of Chennai. Special counseling camps for alcoholic’s drug addicts and other related social menace. The problems of the street children were addressed through these counseling programme and also methods of to tackle all other sorts of anti-social evils.
Greater Chennai Volunteers Training Programme
The main aim of the programme is to train 5000 volunteers from various churches in and the city of Chennai in the areas of social and spiritual duties to help the poor and the needy, the fatherless and the widow, the old and the sick, the lonely and the heart-broken addicts and the general public at large.
There by sharing the love of our Lord Jesus through compassionate and caring service.
Kancheepuram Educational programme
In order to educate the pastors and elders of the churches in the rural villages of Kancheepuram district educational programme was implemented. There are 100 churches chosen for the project. One hundred pastors and three hundred elders at the rate of 1:3 were chosen from the churches. Also given educational support Young widows children like evening tuition with nutrition food,uniform and school fees.
AIDS Awareness Ministry
A. The AIDS problem assuming monstrous proportion needs no emphasis. There need to be education and counseling to the people who may become victim to this dreaded disease. Our dedicated teams comprising of youth visit the places and create awareness among different age group.
B. Care and Support programme for HIV/AIDS patients
- To give life to the orphan children by the way of HIV/AIDS patients. Keep the children in children home and give education, food and medical care.
- To help HIV/AIDS patients for their medical need.
- To support the family of the HIV/AIDS for their daily living by providing monthly assistance.
- To guide the patients to go for regular medical treatment
- To create awareness to the general public and prevent in spreading the disease.
- To establish counseling centers for the mainly for the HIV/AIDS affected population. Even the general population can also use the centre for any information purpose.
- To associate the activities with Government and non governmental organization who do similar kind of work.
Tsunami Programme
Peniel Mission Trust fully involved in helping the Tsunami affected people. In the Tsunami affected Pudukalpukkam, Nemmelikuppam, Pattipulamkuppam villages Peniel Mission Trust supplied free meals for 4 days continuously.
On February 5, 2005 at Nagappattinam another Tsuanmi affected place, Peniel Mission Trust involved in counselling 1000 people. On that day It provided food to all the 1000 people.
Inorder to rehabilitate the Tsunami affected poor Fishermen community Peniel Mission Trust with the help of Khw India carried out the following activities.
